NOTE: The weather station data has moved here.
We’re located on the shores of North Tenmile Lake just three miles from the beautiful Oregon coast, between Coos Bay and Florence:
See the tabs below for highlights of the area! (work in progress)
A string of shallow freshwater lakes range down the south central Oregon coast for approximately 45 miles, from a little north of Florence to Coos Bay / North Bend. Many of these are quite small, mere puddles compared to some of their larger neighbors, but some of the more notable ones from north to south are:
Name | Area (acres) | Shoreline (miles) | Max Depth (feet) | Miles North of Lakeside |
Mercer Lake | 350 | 9.03 | 38 | 33 |
Clear Lake (1) | 153 | 2.52 | 80 | 31 |
Munsel Lake | 105 | 3.16 | 71 | 30 |
Woahink Lake | 784 | 15.15 | 75 | 23 |
Siltcoos Lake | 3287 | 36.03 | 22 | 20 |
Tahkenitch Lake | 2324 | 57.01 | 23 | 15 |
Clear Lake (2) | 310 | 8.32 | 119 | 4.5 |
Eel Lake | 347 | 11.67 | 66 | 2 |
North Tenmile Lake | 829 | 21.24 | 23 | 0 |
South Tenmile Lake | 1138 | 23.61 | 27 | 0 |
These statistics vary considerably depending upon rainfall (except for the distance from Lakeside, of course) and are averages. You can see that the combination of North plus South Tenmile Lake statistics (which are connected by a boat-navigable canal) is the third largest in terms of area and second largest in terms of shoreline.
